Qld: Two dead in overnight crashes

BRISBANE, Dec 13 AAP - Police believe heavy rain in south-east Queensland may have
contributed to a fatal motorcycle accident on the Gold Coast.

The bike was travelling south along Townson Avenue at Palm Beach around 10.20pm (AEST)
yesterday when the rider lost control and crashed into a parked car.

He died at the scene.

Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the crash and believe heavy
rain in the area at the time may have been a contributing factor.

Meanwhile, a woman has been killed in a single vehicle crash at Canungra, south of Brisbane.

Police say the woman's car left Beaudesert Nerang Road around 12.30am (AEST) and crashed
into a tree.

The woman, the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.
